About our cover:  Hidden Tulips; painting and photography by Cid Palacio, a member of the ART for Cancer Group.

The art on the cover of this issue is entitled “Hidden Tulips” and was created by Cid Palacio when her mother was diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma.  “Hidden Tulips” is a metaphor for hidden cancer cells, and the artist hopes it will act as a reminder of the importance of regular self examination.

Cid donates 100% of all profit from her art to cancer charity, in memory of her Mom and Dad, who both lost their battle with cancer in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Cid also started a not-for-profit organization, ART for Cancer Foundation, which is focused on delivering expressive painting workshops to cancer patients, families and care givers. Anyone interested in finding out more about this program, can contact her via email at: contact@artforcancer.com.Cid is also the founder of the ART for Cancer Group.
